Long-distance move from Cleveland, OH to Billings, MT

Unbelievably horrific

The worst possible moving experience. After signing the contract based off of promises and timelines this company completely disregarded any verbal confirmation and then would dismiss, redirect, lie, omit, avoid, and become aggressive. This treatment continues repeatedly and if there’s a response to this review it will more than likely be more of the same and a great look into what you will be dealing with if you hire them. Aside from never being on time, ability to follow directions, deliveries weeks later than promised and a complete lack of coordination; if you call with a question or concern you are met with aggression and gaslighting. For example you will call with a concern only to be told I’m not dealing with you. Then you’re transferred to customer service without asking. You will be waiting for a resolution that will never come. Moving is stressful and this kind treatment is unacceptable especially to a disabled female veteran. When I was dealing with Sonia from customer service and informed her of this she ultimately condoned this kind of treatment and defended it. She told me she and the manager did not see anything wrong with this. All this which I have proof and they could not produce any on their end. They wouldn’t even apologize. This is truly what they must think of customers and also veterans. These are facts of which can be proven as well everything in this review. Next they require two payments one upon pickup and one upon delivery. They give estimates for these. Before pick up or drop off they give a final price different from the estimate to be paid. This is expected and normal. Days later they call and ask for more money in an unexplained charge along with a threat to withhold property if not paid because it’s their policy. Upon asking to explain these charges they couldn’t so they waited until final drop off to charge the final drop off price plus the unexplained charges on top of that price and again threatened to withhold property unless paid. After explaining to customer service (Sonia)this problem she informs me they do not give customers invoices or billing statements unless requested. When I requested them I learned they actually only produce the invoice that day when requested and could not produce any record of charges at the time they were requested to be paid. When told this is concerning because it leaves room to manipulate and charge however they want during a move and withhold property without any proof these charges are legitimate. Again their stance is this business model is completely acceptable and we promise we don’t do that. Unbelievable. So they produce an invoice weeks after the move was completed with no acceptable legitimacy. Also, Morse moving was told not to use old moving boxes located on property filled with mouse feces and spider eggs. They used them anyway and charged for them (as if they were new boxes they provided) according to the invoice they made weeks after payments were received. Again, Sonia and management find this acceptable. I can only assume this family thinks less than nothing of their customers, veterans, laws or accountability and seem to operate in a grey area. They cannot produce a single legitimate piece of evidence about any of these problems. Only that they don’t see a problem. I have to think there’s a reason for such vague evasive business practices and I don’t think it’s a good one. Also, I have email correspondence and records of service so they cannot say they have no record of this move.

Local move from Livonia, MI to Ypsilanti, MI

Good experience, good value.

We looked around at moving reviews, and it seemed like every company had horror stories. We used Allied Van Lines before, so we called them and got Morse. The price quote and level of service (protecting your furniture and floors was included) was good but not unbelievable.
Ray and Cullen came out on move day and were very quick and courteous. None of our stuff was damaged, and they didn't cut any corners. They made sure everything was unloaded in the proper place, so we had no extra work moving things again. And they made sure everything was safe for our toddler. They were fast, polite, and a pleasure to have take care of our move!

MI to PHX Move.

Still fighting for my reimbursement with Sirva. They want to offer us half of what we are owed. We were insured! Read the reviews on using Allied as your moving company. Its the same thing over and over. Either they break your things or they just disappear. When you try to get them to reimburse you they want to make you an offer. WHAT? Make an offer? How do you replace your things with half of what you are owed? Its a constant battle that we probably wont win. If someone believes they are being scammed by a moving company, they can sue, but are severely limited. All moving companies are protected by a law called the Carmack Amendment, which limits recovery in a lawsuit to:

Actual damages
Prejudgment interest
Attorney's fees

Long-distance move from Michigan to Colorado

Morse Moving & Storage.

We hired Morse Moving for a move from Ann Arbor to Colorado. Our move cost us $3,000. We did all the packing ourselves except for the furniture (which we were told not to pack because the movers would do a better job). Morse did provide us with boxes, free of charge, which we very much appreciated. Because we moved from a downtown location, our load had to be stored at their storage facility for a few days. The Ann Arbor part went fine--very helpful sales rep (Chris). They were higher than the other bid (Corrigan) but Chris was so great and reassuring that we chose Morse. Since we weren't a full load, Allied (Morse) loaded our stuff on a van from another Allied company. I had asked if they transferred and they said no. These drivers were dreadful. I kept having to call them about the delivery date and they were several days late. But the really dreadful thing was the damage done to our furniture. Chris had assured us that the drivers were careful. They were not. They broke two heirloom chairs and a table. Every single box was beaten up. Apparently, they had delivered 4 loads and then picked up another 4 loads, so our stuff was moved on and off the truck 4 times. Aggravating the damage was the drivers' attitude--they were not apologetic and continued to be careless even while we were watching--throwing boxes from the truck that landed on the ground. Claims people were not helpful either. They devalued the chairs and in the end we were not compensated for the damage. I was very disappointed in the response from Morse--even the folks who had been so kind in Ann Arbor. No one seemed to care or be willing to try to make things right. I recommend Corrigan even if their up-front sales person isn't as charming as Morse.  .

Long-distance move from Fishers, IN to Nashville, TN

Lost furniture.

Has anyone seen our big red sofa? Or our 10 foot ladder? Mores Allied Van lines have lost these items and cannot find them. The sofa is custom-made and is part of a group. They also broke several items and we have not had a lot of communication with them. We’ve been told to file a claim. Not much apology on the side of Morse Allied Van lines. If you are looking to move in the near future and you value your belongings, you may wish to check out other options. We are trying to figure out out how you lose a large red sofa. Maurice Allied Van lines Has not take that much interest in our items. Very disappointing. We trusted them with our belongings and they let us down. With not much apology. Who loses the sofa?? Poor customer service.

Long-distance move from Toledo, OH to Ashburn, VA

Do Not Use Morse Moving!

TLDR at the end. I went with the cheapest of three quotes and I regret it. John Green did a nice job of remotely estimating my move (due to COVID, we had a video chat) which was on the smaller side of a typical amount of goods to be moved from Ohio to Virginia. The total came out to just over $3,500 and I thought that was a very reasonable price and about 15% cheaper than the next highest bid.

Due to the smaller load, it had to be packed onto one truck, transported on that truck to a warehouse in Michigan, then stored until it could be loaded onto a different truck that was making multiple stops heading east. I understand that is how they make small moves economical and I accepted that the delivery window would be 3 weeks long. After the movers packed my goods the scheduler, Tracey Pritchett contacted me and I agreed to a delivery on 5/16/2020 between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. I called on Friday 5/15/2020 at 2:30 PM to confirm the delivery and was told that "I am your next call, let me doublecheck and call you back". I called back at 5:25 PM to again confirm with Tracey and she confirmed that the delivery would arrive the following day. The next morning at 9:30 AM my phone rings. It's Tracey. She has called to inform me that not only will my goods not be delivered today, but they haven't even been loaded on the truck in Michigan. She doesn't know why the driver couldn't make the delivery because he never returned any of her messages, she "assumed everything was good to go".

I later get a call on Monday 5/18/2020 and Tracey informs me that my goods will be delivered on Friday 5/22/2020. I inform her that I am already scheduled out of town for work Friday through Saturday and I cannot be there to accept delivery and there is no one else in the household; I asked for delivery on Thursday. Impossible, she states. Her supervisory Bethany Gutowski calls me back later to verify that I cannot be there to accept delivery on Friday. I confirm emphatically, I will be working out of town. Today, 5/20/2020 I receive an email with an invoice for an additional $1,041 for storage from Friday through next Tuesday and they will be able to deliver my goods on Wednesday. They won't even tell me what time the delivery will be until the day before. I do have a new job that doesn't allow me to just phone it in. I guess that doesn't matter to them.

TLDR: I paid for a service to pack and move household good for me. They did a great job packing them. The transportation of them from Point A to Point B resulted in them standing me up on a CONFIRMED delivery with less than 1 hour notice, then informing me that if I couldn't be at my new residence to accept delivery on the date that they TOLD me I HAD to be there, it results in an additional charge of $1,041 to 'store my goods' for an additional 6 days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND MORSE MOVING AND STORAGE. In fact, I highly recommend that you take the next highest bid, which for me was "Two Men and a Truck" for my particular move. I have been on hold with them for enough time to have heard over and over on their on-hold voice messaging that 'mistakes are costly', doing moves the first time is important to them', and 'customer satisfaction is their number one priority'. Not true. I wish I would have checked reviews on them before making a decision!

*If you can't accept delivery on the day they direct, you are SOL and will be charged whatever they feel like.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Washington

Morse Moving in Michigan.

My experience with Morse Moving from Michigan to Seattle was horrible. I am surprised they are still in business.

They missed on their estimation. They did not get everything on one truck. The delivery was three days late. The second truck was 10 days later. They charged me an additional $750 which was disputed. They had no interest in resolving the dispute. In addition, they hurt my credit rating even though this was a company paid move.

It seems like their price guarantee is a marketing gimmick and nothing more. They had horrible customer service and no desire to make sure the customer is satisfied.

Moving across the country is a very stressful experience. Finding a moving company that understands this and does what it says it will do is critical.

Morse Moving is not that kind of company. I recommend finding another company that cares.

Long-distance move from Michigan to California

44 days to move! 44 days! And they think its okay.

43 days ago Morse Moving packed my house up to move me across the country. I have yet to receive my stuff and they are charging me ~$7000 for this service. There customer support seems to think that is is perfectly acceptable. "We are just busy in the summer" is what I have been told. They refuse to compensate me anything. Today they even tried to process the rest of my payment on my credit card today without my permission and without delivery of my items. I could have moved my house myself but opted to pay "professionals" to make it easier for me. Boy was I wrong. Don't use Morse. Just google their name and you will find others with the same story at me. 1.5 starts on yelp, 14 complaints on BBB, etc.

Long-distance move from Arkansas to Colorado

Morse Moving / Allied.

We contracted with Morse Moving & Storage (Allied Van Lines)  to move our home belongings from Benton, AR to Parker, CO.  They were not the cheapest moving quote and not the highest.  Morse made the decision to use the weights provided by United Van Lines quotation and Mayflower's quotation instead of coming out to the house and taking inventory themselves.  Unfortunately both quotations were underweight. The truck arrived two days early and asked if they could load the storage units.  We agreed.  They then came to our home and found they could not load the entire house.  They made contact with Morse and arrangements were made to pick up the remainder the second day (approximately 20% of our home belongings). We are almost thirty days past the day of pick-up and we still don't have the second load.  Unfortunately we did not know two loads were going to happen so could not plan accordingly (i.e. make sure all essentials are in the first load).  Therefore we have partials of almost everything.  Example:  Ironing board but no iron; computer but no keyboard or mouse; shirts but no pants; mattresses but no bedding; some pots and pans but no dishes; etc.).  In addition, medicines, medical supplies and our household financial records are in this second truck.  When I called Joseph Browser, in effect I was told they could keep our belongings as long as they wanted.  They would get here when they get here.I am astonished at this company's handling of this move.  I am doing everything I can to be a squeaky wheel but there has been no movement.  I have been given multiple delivery dates with every one of them missed.  Today was another delivery date promise broken.  We have used Mayflower and United in the past and we have NEVER had this experience.  I would NEVER use Morse or Allied again and would recommend everyone steer clear. .
